Chosen Watch Group

The Chosen Watch Group meets each Sunday at 7:00pm at Adam & Cindy Hartman's home, usually for about 1 hour or so.  Refreshments are provided.
The television series The Chosen respectfully and dramatically explores the calling of Jesus's group of disciples and his ministry.  There are four seasons of The Chosen (with season five being released soon), and our small group began with Season 1, episode 1 on Jan 26, 2025. 

We are watching one episode per week (they range from about 30 minutes to 50 minutes long), and we talk afterward about what God has put on our hearts.  We make use a study guide as a conversation starter, and explore some of the key biblical verses referenced (or dramatized) during each episode.

The Chosen depicts life as it was in the Holy Land 2000 years ago, but so much of this is relevant to our lives now.  The series is consistent with scripture, though the timing of some events may be slightly different. 

The website https://watch.thechosen.tv/ has every episode of every season available for free.  There is much valuable bonus content, such as "round table discussions" available for each episode, where show creator (Dallas Jenkins) gathers feedback from theologians (on Catholic, one Jewish, one evangelical) regarding what moved and or made them uncomfortable about each episode, and what adjustments Jenkins made to episodes in response to feedback from that theological team.
